Update: After Lockdown due to Covid-19 and change of the owner we received an excellent service. The problem with the payment via safarinow has been solved. The next time at this beautiful and very kind accomodation will be with a direct booking.

The main lodge, where food is served, is spacious and very well furnished with a small bar, an outside pool and large veranda below which congregate the reserve’s animal residents as the evening draws in; a lovely spot for a sundowner.
Beautiful venue for a few nights stay; great food and our hosts were simply delightful and very helpful in making arrangements to visit some local attractions.

The landscape is extremely beautiful, what a view at sunset when the animals come to drink! Also the Varley family is charming, and Constantine Varley provided us with a lot of information to plan our stay (even after we left the property he kept sending me information by WhattsApp on what to look for on the road). The breakfasts and dinners were delicious and plentyful, always with such a nice decoration on the table. Our chalets (there are only 4 or 5 I think, so this is very private) were very nice, with a verandah to look at the view. The place is close to all the things to see around (ostrich farm, cango caves...) while being in this peaceful and beautiful environnement. A real gem, for a reasonnable price. Kudu chalet has... read more a large barbecue facility for self catering. Both lodges have amazing views of the 3 mountain ranges. We had breakfast and dinner at the lodge and both meals were mind blowing. The lodge also has a lovely pool area and a bar, with beautiful views of the mountains and the wildlife on the farm (Springboks, Kudu, Zebra, Giraffe, Swartwildebeest, Oryx) to name a few. You can also take a hike through well laid out hiking trails and view the wildlife on the farm up close. The owners also arranged a sundowner for us on top of a hill with stunning views of the 3 mountain ranges. The owners and staff were exceptional, friendly and helpful, they did not hesitate to assist with special requests and made great suggestions for nearby attractions, of which there are plenty. If relaxation is your thing, do not hesitate to stay at this lodge, you will not regret it, we had a very special time and will definitely visit again in future. More

We stayed for two nights with our four children (9-14 yrs) and absolutely loved the lodge, the... read more view, the animals on the grounds, the pool, the braai dinners and the walking trail. Varley and Hannalize are fantastic and helpful hosts and we very much enjoyed talking to them about life in SA as well as the many great sites in the area. We could easily have stayed another night or two. A highlight on our trip. Easy accessible with any car. Hope that we will visit again one day!
