There is some Karoo bushes in between the cottage and the braai, so it feels like you are out in the open, but the cottage is right there.

The owners and staff was amazing. We had sundowners at the main building / bar in the evening, overlooking the beautiful Karoo hills. The view really is amazing.

The owner blows on a whistle around sunset, all the animals comes to this area then to feed. It was great for our 3 year old who enjoyed the presence of the giraffe very much.

The landscape is extremely beautiful, what a view at sunset when the animals come to drink! Also the Varley family is charming, and Constantine Varley provided us with a lot of information to plan our stay (even after we left the property he kept sending me information by WhattsApp on what to look for on the road). The breakfasts and dinners were delicious and plentyful, always with such a nice decoration on the table. Our chalets (there are only 4 or 5 I think, so this is very private) were very nice, with a verandah to look at the view. The place is close to all the things to see around (ostrich farm, cango caves...) while being in this peaceful and beautiful environnement. A real gem, for a reasonnable price.
