This... read more lodge has a super relaxed atmosphere with the animals popping down to get a bite to eat right outside the lodge verandah. The food was excellent and there was nothing Franco didn't know about the animals, whose care was of the upmost importance. We're so glad Melman (the giraffe) came to see us off and I'm lucky my partner got in the car as he could quite easily have stayed. Would highly recommend the lodge for a little piece of paradise, with beautiful sunsets against the red mountains.

The landscape is extremely beautiful, what a view at sunset when the animals come to drink! Also the Varley family is charming, and Constantine Varley provided us with a lot of information to plan our stay (even after we left the property he kept sending me information by WhattsApp on what to look for on the road). The breakfasts and dinners were delicious and plentyful, always with such a nice decoration on the table. Our chalets (there are only 4 or 5 I think, so this is very private) were very nice, with a verandah to look at the view. The place is close to all the things to see around (ostrich farm, cango caves...) while being in this peaceful and beautiful environnement. A real gem, for a reasonnable price. Update: After Lockdown due to Covid-19 and change of the owner we received an excellent service. The problem with the payment via safarinow has been solved. The next time at this beautiful and very kind accomodation will be with a direct booking.
